Music education

Yulia Mennibaeva started vocal training under the direction of V.D. Minakov.

In 2005-2010 studied at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatoire (class of Prof. G.A. Pisarenko). In the opera studio of the Moscow State Conservatoire she performed the role of Orpheus in Gluck's opera Orpheus and Eurydice. From 2007 to 2009 she participated in the International School of Vocal Mastery, studying with such teachers as Giandomenico Bisi and Gloria Guido (Italy), George Darden, Diane Zola, Richard Bado (USA). She has also taken part in master classes given by Semyon Skigin, Maria Gulegina and Carol Vaness at the Bolshoi Theater. In 2012 she graduated from the V.S. Popov Academy of Choral Arts (class of Professor D.Y. Vdovin), and in 2015 completed an assistantship and internship there.

Since 2010 she has been a soloist at the E.V. Kolobov Moscow New Opera Theater, where she performs such roles as Konchakovna ("Prince Igor" by A.P. Borodin), Olga ("Eugene Onegin" by P.I. Tchaikovsky), Maddalena ("Rigoletto" by G. Verdi), Didona ("Didon and Aeneas" by G. Purcell), Vesna ("The Snow Maiden" by N. Rimsky-Korsakov), Tizbe ("Cinderella" by G. Rossini), Fenena ("Nabucco" by G. Verdi) and others.

Since 2014 she has been a guest soloist at the Bolshoi Theater of Russia. She made her debut as the Little Robber in the opera The Story of Kai and Gerda by S. Banevich. Participated in prestigious music festivals: at the festival "Transfiguration" she performed the role of Otrok in the opera "The Tale of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevronia" by N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov (Yaroslavl, 2010), "All-Night Vigil" by S. Rakhmaninov (2014), "The All-Night Vigil" by S. Rakhmaninov (2014), and "The All-Night Vigil" by S. Rakhmaninov (2014). She took part in performances of Shostakovich's cycles Spanish Songs and From Jewish Folk Poetry; All Tchaikovsky's Romances IV (2015); Sergei Prokofiev (2016) at the Beethoven Hall of the Bolshoi Theater.

Performed concerts at the Royal Opera House Real (Madrid) and the Monte Carlo Opera House (Monaco). In the 2016-2017 season she was an artist of the youth program of the Zurich Opera House (Switzerland), where she performed the following roles: Lola (Rural Honor by P. Mascagni, conducted by D. Rustioni, the role of Turiddu - R. Alagna), Emilia (Otello by J. Verdi, conducted by M. Armiliato), Dragonfly and China Cup (Child and Magic by M. Ravel, conducted by P. Balleff).

In September 2017, she trained at the Monte Carlo Opera Academy, where she prepared the role of Carmen in the opera of the same name by J. Bizet. In December 2017, she performed the role of Amelfa in N. Rimsky-Korsakov's opera The Golden Cockerel at the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam) conducted by Vasily Petrenko.

In January 2018 at the Oviedo Opera House (Spain) she performed the role of Geneviève in Pelléas et Mélisande by C. Debussy with Ives Abel, in March 2018 at the Teatro del Liceu (Spain) she performed the role of Bersi in Andrea Chénier by W. Giordano with Pinchas Steinberg (Andrea Chénier - Jonas Kaufmann, Maddalena - Sondra Rodvanovsky). At the Festival of the Week Ascona performed Verdi's Requiem (Marcus Poschner in Locarno Switzerland) and in Milan with the Verdi Orchestra conducted by Oleg Caetani.

In February 2019, she performed the role of Ulrika in J. Verdi's Ballo -Masquerade b/w Daniel Oren at the Israeli Opera Tel Aviv.

In June 2019, she represented Russia at the BBC International Singer of the World competition in Cardiff.

In January 2022, she participated in the opening of the Christmas Festival at the Moscow International House of Music, where she performed "Christmas Mass" by C. Saint-Saëns.

Among the upcoming engagements in 2023: debut in the role of Amneris "Aida" by J. Verdi at the Moscow Theater "New Opera" named after E. V. Kolobov; the role of Blind from the opera "Gioconda" by A. Ponchielli at the opera house La palmas Gran Canaria (Spain).
