Conductor of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia

  • Stefan Turchak 2nd prize (Kiev 2010),
  • Lovro von Matačić 1st Prize (Zagreb 2011).

 

Music education

Born in Moscow into the family of conductor Vladimir Bogorad. Studied at the Central School of Music. Graduated with honors from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatoire, first in clarinet (2001), Professor Vladimir Sokolov, and then in opera and symphony conducting (2009), Professor Gennady Rozhdestvensky).

Creative Biography

In 2011-2012 he was Vladimir Jurowski's assistant at the Svetlanov State Symphony Orchestra.

Since 2012 conductor of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia.

He has performed with leading Russian orchestras: the Russian National Orchestra, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, the Symphony Orchestra of the St Petersburg Philharmonic, the State Academic Chamber Orchestra of Russia, the Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Perm and Yakutsk Theatres of Opera and Ballet and the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra. He continues to collaborate regularly with the Svetlanov GASO, symphony orchestras in Lithuania, Ukraine, Croatia and Norway, as well as the Mikhailovsky (St Petersburg), Novosibirsk, Prague and Belgrade National Theatres and the Teatro San Carlo (Naples).

Urgently replacing Valery Gergiev, he conducted the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra's performance at the G20 Summit in St. Petersburg.

An important event was the performances at the XV International Medici TV Competition with Svetlanov GASO and the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, which were watched by millions of people around the world.

A great place in his creative biography is occupied by many years of work as a clarinet soloist with the Bolshoi Theater Orchestra of Russia (1997 - 2011), as well as with the Russian National Orchestra under Mikhail Pletnyov (2001 - 2011). These years include cooperation with such outstanding conductors as: Evgeny Svetlanov, Mstislav Rostropovich, Yuri Temirkanov, Valery Gergiev, Semyon Bychkov, Paavo Berglund, Zubin Mehta, Kent Nagano, Charles Dutoit
