"...Tenor Khachatur Badalyan, the Roman warrior Forresto - Odabella's fiancé - delighted with his excellent form and growing skill. The first solo number, the cavatina "Ella in poter del barbaro" gave a really bel canto spill, when caressing matte-silk spinto is complemented by mastery of legato, meaningfulness of the text. The following cabaletta "Cara patria già madre e reina" sounded strong and clear, ending with a gorgeous upper "C", unfortunately almost covered by the mass of chorus and orchestra. Khachatur Badalyan conducted duets with soprano and ensembles with other characters with confidence and feeling. And Forresto's lyrical romance from the last picture "Che non avrebbe il misero" was not spoiled even by a barely noticeable blunder. In general, it is rare to enjoy the sound of a native tenor so gourmandically. It is not for nothing that Khachatur Badalyan is in demand today in Italian opera theaters".
