In the 2009-2010 season she first performed the role of Diana in the opera Diana's Tree by V. Martin y Soler at the Teatro Real (Madrid), sang Adalgisa (Norma by V. Bellini) at the Bellini Festival in Catania and Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos by R. Strauss) at the Washington National Opera.

In the 2010-2011 season she made her debut at the Netherlands Opera House as Juliet (Romeo and Juliet by Ch. Gounod, conducted by Marc Minkowski and directed by Olivier Pi). She performed the same role at the Dallas Opera. She sang the title role in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor at the Pittsburgh Opera and in Ottawa.

In 2011 she also sang Pamina (The Magic Flute by W.A. Mozart) at the Teatro Colón (Buenos Aires).

In 2012 she made her debut at the Bolshoi Theater as Sophie (The Cavalier of the Rose by R. Strauss).

In 2016, the premiere of S. Slonimsky's opera King Lear took place (at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall), where Lyubov Petrova performed the role of Cordelia with the Svetlanov Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Jurowski.
