Musical education
She received her first music lessons from her mother. In 2006 she graduated from a music college in Aktobe (Kazakhstan) and in 2011 from the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatoire (class of Galina Pisarenko). She has trained with Dmitry Vdovin and with Placido Domingo in Washington, DC.

Creative biography
In 2009-2011 she was an artist of the Bolshoi Theatre's youth opera program. In 2010 Svetlana made her Bolshoi Theatre debut as Kupava (Rimsky-Korsakov's Snow Maiden). Later she performed there as Fata Morgana (The Love for Three Oranges by S. Prokofiev) and Nastasia (The Enchantress by P. Tchaikovsky). In 2011 she sang the title role in Puccini's Tosca at the Ekaterinburg Opera House and the Bolshoi Theatre, later performing in this opera at the Lithuanian National Opera St. Gallen in Switzerland, Slovenia, Berlin and Rome. In 2011 she made her Italian debut at the Teatro Petruzelli in Bari in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.
In 2013 she sang the role of Queen Elizabeth in Verdi's Don Carlos at Turin's Teatro Regio (a recording of the performance has been released on DVD). In the same year she made her debut in the title role in Puccini's Madama Butterfly at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, presented as part of the Biennale.In 2014 she was invited to sing the role of Liu in Puccini's Turandot at the Arena Di Verona and sang the soprano part in Britten's War Requiem in Tallinn, Estonia, after which she performed in the same in the UK.

In 2015, she made her debut in England in G. Verdi's Masquerade Ball (role of Amelia). In the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatoire she took part in a performance of Verdi's Requiem.
In 2016 she performed the premiere of Tosca in Puccini's opera Tosca in Switzerland at the S.Gallen Theater, in spring 2016 she also performed the role of Tosca in Vilnius in Lithuania, in autumn 2016 she will sing the role of Rusalka in Dargomyzhsky's opera Rusalka in Moscow at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, followed by a series of recitals in Slovenia with the Philharmonic Orchestra.
She has been invited to sing Queen Elizabeth in the opera Don Carlos at the Paris National Opera Bastille next season, which will also include debuts in Italy in Verdi's Atilla, Manon Lescaut at the Teatro Regio in Turin, and Puccini's Tosca at the Rome Opera.

In 2022, she made her debut in the title female role of Nefta in Franchetti's opera Asrael at the Bonn Opera House in Bonn, Germany.

В 2023 году: Светлана приняла участие в Международном фестивале классической музыки «Кантата», исполнив партию Земфиры в опере "Алеко" С.В. Рахманинова; исполнила партию Франчески в опере "Франческа да Римини" С.В. Рахманинова совместно с Московским государственным симфоническим оркестром (дирижер - Иван Рудин) на сцене Большого зала "Зарядье", а также на гастролях с оркестром в Новом Уренгое. В декабре 2023 года Светлана Касьян выступила на вручении премии фонда "Артист" на сцене Российского академического молодежного театра. Светлана Касьян и Миша Кауфман исполнили «Ave Maria» Шуберта в сопровождении оркестра МГСО п/у Ивана Рудина

В феврале 2024 года Светлана приняла участие в 42-м Международном оперном фестивале им. Ф.И. Шаляпина в Казани. Певица исполнила заглавные партии в операх "Аида" Дж. Верди и "Тоска" Дж. Пуччини. В рамках фестиваля Светлана также приняла участие в концерте камерной музыки "Два века классического романса" в ГБКЗ им. С. Сайдашева.

Svetlana Kasyan has a large concert activity.

In 2012, her closing concert at the Athens Festival attracted more than 5,500 listeners to the Odeon Theater of Herodotus Atticus. She has performed chamber music programs with maestro Semyon Skigin at the Moscow International House of Music. In November 2013, she gave a recital in Rome at the Auditorium Concilazione, after which she was granted a private audience by Pope Francis, who dedicated the singer's voice to God and made her promise to sing for good. In 2014, she made her solo concert debut in Berlin with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 2017 Svetlana premiered as Odabella in the opera Atilla at the Teatro Luciano Pavarotti in Modena and as Manon in the opera Manon Lescaut at the Teatro di Torino.
