Darya Terekhova and Vladimir Dmitruk in Gaetano Donizetti's opera "Love Drink"

Melodramma giocoso, "merry melodrama" - this is how its author Gaetano Donizetti defined the genre of the opera Love Drink. It is in this opera that one of the world's most popular arias, Nemorino's romance Una furtiva lagrima, is performed. You will easily remember it if you have seen Nikita Mikhalkov's movie "An Unfinished Piece for a Mechanical Piano". Nemorino's romance is the musical leitmotif of the movie. It is fair to say that this romance was written long before the opera "Love Drink" was composed. One day Donizetti realized that this music should be given to the protagonist of The Love Drink, and he had no doubt that Una furtiva lagrima would be the tune that the audience would sing after the premiere of the opera.

Part of Nemorino - Vladimir Dmitruk, part of Adina - Daria Terekhova
