Epiphany Festival at the New Opera House

Premier Art Agency recommends visiting in the "Year of Theater - 2019": the baptismal festival "The Chief Conductor" at the New Opera Theater. The festival will take place from January 15 to February 3 and will feature our artists, soloists of the New Opera.

M.I.Glinka "Life for the Tsar", premiere - January 15.

This opera is a rare guest on the opera stage: among the reasons for this are the sheer scale of the work and the exceptional difficulty of the vocal parts. The creative team of the theater presented "Life for the Tsar" in its semi-concert (semi-stage) version with great success.

Ch. Gounod's "Faust" - January 18.

The New Opera plays Faust in an unexpected refraction. The German-French matrix appears in dialog with Bulgakov's Faustianism.

W.A. Mozart Requiem; Mass in C minor - January 19.

The performance of Mozart's Grand Mass in C Minor and Requiem at the New Opera House will be conducted by Filippo Arlia. International critics consider him one of the most brilliant and versatile musicians of his generation. The musician has given more than 350 concerts as a pianist and conductor in more than 20 countries. Filippo Arlia will be performing at the New Opera House for the first time.

B. Smetana "The Sold Bride"- January 23.

The pastoral plot, vivid images and colorful mass scenes are successfully deployed by the theater in the concert performance of the opera.

M.S. Weinberg's "The Passenger Girl" - January 27.

Natalia Kreslina (Marta), Valeria Pfister (Lisa), Dmitry Pianov (Walter) and Sergei Shirokov (director) received the 2018 Moscow Prize for Literature and Art for staging this opera.

G. Puccini's "Madama Butterfly", premiere - January 30.

The creators and performers of the opera decided to "speak" to the audience in the language of signs, stereotypes, given that everyone has a certain view of Western, American culture, and the same generalized view of Japanese culture.

G. Verdi's "Nabucco" - February 1.

The creative team tried to find a parallel to the plot of the opera in modern history and realized that the 1930s corresponded to it. It was a time when dictatorial regimes were being born and gaining strength in Europe. The fear of the future was enormous, the whole of Europe sensed the approach of war. The play is based on this "nerve".

The final Gala Concert is February 3.

The program includes arias and duets from operas by Russian and foreign composers. Ilya Derbilov and Andrei Danilov are at the conductor's desk. The performance with the New Opera Theater Orchestra will be a premiere for them.
