Agunda Kulaeva and Alexei Tatarintsev in Verdi's "Requiem"

On October 23, the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory will host the event "Verdi. Requiem for soloists, chorus and orchestra". The production is timed to coincide with the 205th anniversary of the composer's birth. The event will be attended by artists from the Premier Art Agency Agunda Kulaeva и Alexei Tatarintsev. The fate of this work is very unusual. At first Verdi wanted to dedicate it to the composer Rossini, and a whole team worked on the requiem. However, the joint work did not succeed, and the musician decided to finish the requiem on his own. While he was working on it, another idol - the writer A. Manzoni - died, after which the dedication became double. The music turned out to be deep, emotional and dramatic. Today the Requiem is part of the repertoire of many symphony orchestras.
