In the XIX century in Vyksa there was one of the largest estate theaters in Russia - on the scale and luxury of productions it could compare with the imperial stages of Moscow and St. Petersburg. But who knows about it? Today the heritage of the Vyksa theater is unfairly forgotten, lost in the city archives and legends. The task of the authors of the production is to revive the ghostly theater to give Vyksa back a part of its history.

The author of the idea and artistic director of the project, Pyotr Aidoo, and the director Elizaveta Moroz, together with the musical director of the production, Grigory Krotenko, and the playwright Valery Pecheikin, do not intend to "reconstruct" or "reproduce" ancient operas. Their task is to invite the ghosts and inhabitants of urban myth from the past to the present.

Persimphans, Intrada vocal ensemble, soloists of the best musical theaters of Russia and the Great Vyksa Choir will perform fragments of the operas "Don Juan", "Ivan Susanin", "Robert the Devil", "The Magic Rifleman", "The Sea Robber Tsampa, or the Marble Bride", once already performed in Vyksa. Creating a special atmosphere of the phantom theater will fall on the shoulders of the lighting designer, winner of the "Golden Mask" Emil Avramenko and video artist of the Theater on Bronnaya Alan Mandelstam. The images of ghosts - which are expected to be plentiful - will be the responsibility of production designer Nana Abdrashitova.
