Elmira won two awards: the Winner of the Les Azuriales Kerry Keane Prize at Les Azuriales 2018 Internatiinal Singing Competition sponsored by John & Leonora Kerry Keane and the Winner of the Les Azuriales Salter Audience Prize at Les Azuriales 2018 International Singing Competition sponsored by Richard and Ginny Salter.

Les Azuriales has been organized annually since 2003 in the south-east of France, in the city of Nice. This year it takes place at the historic Citadel Saint-Elm in Villefranche-sur-mer. The contestants are young opera singers from all over the world. The duration of Les Azuriales is two weeks. The program includes a song contest, vocal and acting master classes, and ends with an opera performance staged by the contestants from scratch during the week.

On August 24, Elmira Karakhanova will perform one of the main roles in Francis Poulenc's comic opera "Grudy Theresia" at the De La Citern Theater.
