Live broadcast of the concert dedicated to the Day of Slavonic Script and Culture

On May 24, a festive concert dedicated to the Day of Slavic Script and Culture, which is celebrated annually on this day in all Slavic countries, will be held in Moscow's Red Square. This holiday is inextricably linked to the names of two Christian saints - the Equal Apostles Cyril and Methodius, the creators of the first Slavic alphabet. The main idea of the holiday is the theme of spiritual unity, unity of the Slavic peoples and honoring the great cultural heritage.
Participants in the evening will include Valery Gergiev, Head of the Mariinsky Theatre and conductor, pianist Denis Matsuev, and soloist of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Musical Theater. Nemirovich-Danchenko soprano Hibla Gerzmava, bass Ildar Abddrazakov, mezzo-soprano Agunda Kulaeva, soloist of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, bass Maxim Alekseychuk and pianist Lev Bakirov. The Moscow Synodal Choir, the State Academic Choral Chapel of Russia named after A. A. Yurlov, the Moscow Synodal Choir, the State Academic Choral Chapel of Russia named after A. A. Yurlov, and the Moscow Synodal Choir will perform as part of the combined choir. The Moscow Synodal Choir, the Sveshnikov State Academic Russian Choir, the Academic Grand Choir "Masters of Choral Singing" and other ensembles will perform as part of the combined choir.
The program of the concert will include musical classics, the themes of which are mainly connected with the historical past of Russia, with images taken from folk life and epic. Works by outstanding Russian composers Kastalsky, Glinka, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Rachmaninov and Scriabin will be performed by famous soloists, the Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra and a combined choir.
