Opera Institute Educational Project

The Premier Art Agency has launched a new educational and outreach project "Opera Institute" for opera soloists, teachers and concertmasters, winning a grant competition from the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.

Having developed the idea of a project that would provide all gifted opera singers from different regions of the Russian Federation with the opportunity to improve their professional training in an online format, the Premier Art Agency received grant support for the 3rd time, proving the relevance and necessity of such a project today.

The uniqueness of the Opera Institute lies in the educational program; for the first time, participants will have the opportunity to study individually and in mini groups in 4 singing languages (Russian, Italian, French, German), vocal and acting skills from world-class professionals. Listen to lectures and webinars on opera history, opera styles, opera management, psychology, phoniatrics.

The project participants in 2022 included soloists, concertmasters and teachers from more than 55 regions of the Russian Federation. Training access was granted to 50 participants from 18 Russian cities - Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Vladivostok, Kaliningrad, Kazan, Yoshkar-Ola, Kemerovo, Saratov, Samara, Krasnodar, Tambov, Ufa and others. The rest of the participants were offered guest access, allowing them to attend classes in all areas, but without the possibility of active participation.

The best students will be able to come to Moscow for offline classes with teachers and take part in a reporting gala concert at the Zaryadye International Music Hall on April 28, 2023. One of the soloists of the gala concert will be selected by user voting on the project website: https://operainstitute.ru/ Every month, the participants of the educational access will present the results of training within the framework of the "Opera Star Factory", and online users will vote for their favorite singers.

Based on the results of the project, the best students will be included in the Premier Art Agency's singer base.

Among the teachers of the project are Merited Artist of Russia Marina Meshcheryakova, Metropolitan Opera soloist Lyubov Petrova, soloists of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia Ekaterina Morozova and Agunda Kulaeva, soloist of the E.V. Kolobov Moscow New Opera Theater Alexei Tatarintsev, Professor Yulia Sinitsa, Roman Matveev, Daria Arsentieva, Vyacheslav Usov, Sergey Bulanov, Georgy Shilov and others.

The project is realized in close cooperation with the Elena Obraztsova Foundation, continuing Elena Vasilyevna's initiatives and ideas to support young gifted opera singers.
